Rio de Janeiro: Considering growing trend of internet trolls taking over social media, and indulging in ‘friendly fight’ over ‘whose preferred leader or celebrity is less corrupt than the other’, the International Olympic Committee today decided to add Internet Trolling as 29th sport in Rio Olympic games to be held in August this year.
Speaking exclusively to Teekhi Mirchi, head of the game committee revealed, “Trolling requires sophisticated skills, that Netizens acquire through years, or even decades of practice, that starts from normal internet abuse, but transforms into parody accounts and sarcasm. Successful trolls also command a huge organic fan-following, that helps them corner their trolling-target better.”
The news, as expected, has brought cheers among the trolling community spread over entire cyberspace.
“I started my trolling career with usual Maa-Ben. I used to spend countless hours on my PC abusing others for their abusive behavior towards my favorite public figure. When my subjects got irritated as a result, I immediately showed my empathetic traits by offering them ‘Burnol’,” said one troll, who tweets with handle @bhaiyyajispeaks.
“I’ve mammoth collection of tweets’ screenshots on my hard disk to prove contradiction and ironies in my opponents’ statements. I’m finally happy that world has started to understand and appreciate the hard work and dedication our trolling community has been serving mankind with, for decades,” the right wing troll added with pride in his eyes.
Rules of the new Olympic game and nitty-gritties, currently mostly unorganized, are still being worked out, but sources say preference will be given to trolls who leave their victims speechless, and have usually little or no conversation with trolls from opposite side, an indication of respect even within enemies.
