Noida: Fed up with hearing ‘Net Nahin Chal Raha, Kal Aana ….” every time he visited Noida Sector 16 branch, a State Bank of India customer today took extreme step of offering Free WiFi hotspot from his mobile phone to one SBI employee, in order to get his work done. This took everyone in the branch by surprise, and left the bank employee answer-less.
“I have been visiting this branch for weeks to get information on my loan account, and get it closed. The customer care number always goes in loop, to no help. Every time I am told that BSNL line they’re using is down due to some digging work, and will be up tomorrow. When I asked them why they use the unreliable BSNL, and why don’t they have a reliable backup connection, they make faces and refuse to give explanation,” told the frustrated customer Nitin Khanna (name changed) to Teekhi Mirchi.
“Based on my prior experience, I know that no government digging work is repaired in 1 or 2 days. But these BSNL guys are smart, they restore the connection the next day, wasting only 1 day of productive work. I think it’s only about me being unlucky. All I wanted is getting my work done, so I offered them WiFi connection from smartphone,” he added.
At the time of writing this article, SBI employees were still trying to figure out what is WiFi hotspot, and how to get that working with desktop PCs.
