Bajrangi Bhaijaan- a movie for, of and by Salman Khan. A treat for Salman fans. All the Salman fans are going to watch it anyway, no matter the review is good or bad! So this review is totally for Non Salman Fans.
The movie starts in the backdrop of Sonamarg (Indian Kashmir) which is presented as Pakistani Kashmir. Movie is about a little girl who gets lost in India and Salman helps her find her way back to Pakistani Kashmir. Story is predictable like any other Salman movie. All in all, movie sets its tone from the very first song- “Selfie Le Le Re…”, which also marks the entry of our dashing Sallu Bhai.
The movie sets its pace right in the first half, when Salman is in India. Like every Bollywood movie, it has a bit of comedy, a little tinge of romance between Salman and Kareena, alongwith a little touch given by small action beats.
In second half, our Kaala re Nawaazuddin Siddiqui comes and mixes the masala of Bollywood well, and takes along the story with Salman Khan in a good way. Second half is not as exciting as first half, but it’s tolerable. A Sufi number by Adnan Sami is good in the second half.
Kareena has no vital role in this movie, much like any other Khan movie. But the little girl Shahida aka Munni played by Harshali Malhotra looks like mascot of cuteness and is adorable, and keeps the screen moving.
For me and my friends, movie was above average and can claim to have 3 stars.
Teekhi Mirchi rating: *** (3/5)
